Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) opens for Bangladeshis!

দীর্ঘবিরতির পত আবারো বাংলাদেশীদের জন্য খুললো Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) এর দরজা। বিগত বেশ কয়েক বছর বন্ধ থাকার পর ২০২১ সাল থেকে আবারও বাংলাদেশীদের প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত হল হিমালয়ান মাউন্টেনিয়ারিং ইন্সটিটিউট (HMI)।

৩৪৩ নং (এপ্রিল ১ থেকে ২৮, ২০২১) মৌলিক পর্বতারোহণ প্রশিক্ষণে যোগদান করেন রোপ ফোর এডভেঞ্চার ক্লাবের সদস্য আসাদুজ্জামান সাজ্জাদ। ২০১৯সালে সিকিমে ভ্রমণের অনুমতি মিললেও হিমালয়ান মাউন্টেনিয়ারিং ইন্সটিটিউটে বাংলাদেশীদের প্রশিক্ষণের ব্যবস্থা বন্ধই ছিল। তবে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে Rope4 ও HMI এর মধ্যে ই-মেইল আদান-প্রদানের পর ইন্সটিটিউট তাদের কোর্সে বাংলাদেশ থেকে শিক্ষার্থী গ্রহনে সম্মত হয়।

তবে পূর্বের মাত্র ২০০ ডলারে প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহনের যে সুবিধাটি বাংলাদেশীরা পেত সেটি আর থাকছেনা। ২৮ দিনের প্রশিক্ষণে বাংলাদেশী বা বিদেশীদের কোর্স ফি এখন ৮৮০ ডলার (মহামারী চলাকালীন সময়ে ঢাকা থেকে কোলকাতা শুধু বিমানেই যাওয়ার অনুমতি ভিসার সাথে দেওয়া হচ্ছে, তাই সাথে গুনতে হবে আরোও বেশকিছু ডলার)।

এদিকে কোভিড-১৯ এর প্রভাবে সকল ধরনের টুরিস্ট ভিসা প্রদান বন্ধ থাকায় ভারতে গিয়ে প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহণ অনিশ্চিত হয়ে দাঁড়ায়। সেক্ষেত্রে আবারও সাহায্যের হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয় HMI। ইন্ডিয়ান হাইকমিশনারের কাছে শিক্ষার্থীর নাম উল্লেখ করে ভিসা আমন্ত্রণ বিশেষ চিঠি পাঠায় HMI। সেই চিঠি ও অন্যান্য প্রয়োজনীয় সব কাগজ নিয়ে ভিসার আবেদন করলেই পাওয়া যাবে শুধু প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য বিশেষ সিঙ্গেল এন্ট্রি ভিসা।

সিঙ্গেল এন্ট্রি বিশেষ ভিসার জন্য যা যা প্রয়োজন হবে:

বাংলাদেশের যে সংস্থা বা ক্লাবের সাথে আছেন, সেখান থেকে সুপারিশ পত্র
মাউন্টেনিয়ারিং ইন্সটিটিউট থেকে ইন্ডিয়ান হাইকমিশনারের কাছে শিক্ষার্থীর নাম উল্লেখ করে ভিসা আমন্ত্রণ পত্র
ব্যাংক স্টেটমেন্ট (নুন্যতম ১ লক্ষ টাকা)
নিশ্চিত বিমানের টিকেটের কপি (দিলে ভাল হয়)
পূর্বের নিয়মে ইন্ডিয়ান ভিসা পাওয়ার জন্য অন্যান্য কাগজ
- ওয়েব ফাইলের কপি
- পাসপোর্ট কপি
- জাতীয় পরিচয় পত্রের কপ,
- স্টুডেন্ট হলে কলেজ বা ভার্সিটির আইডি কার্ডের কপি
- বাসার বিলের কপি
অন্যান্য কাগজের কপি যা আপনার ভিসাকে নিশ্চিত করতে পারে
ইমেইলের মাধ্যমে ধারাবাহিক যোগাযোগ।

The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) has reopened its doors to Bangladeshis. After being closed for the past several years, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) is open to attend courses by Bangladeshis again from 2021.

Asaduzzaman Sajjad, a member of the Rope4 Adventure Club, joined the Basic Mountaineering Course no. 343 (April 1 to 26, 2021). Despite being allowed to travel to Sikkim in 2019, the attendance of Bangladeshis at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was closed. However, after a long exchange of e-mails between Rope4 and HMI, the Institute agreed to accept students from Bangladesh for their courses.

However, the previous benefit of attending the course in only USD 200 is no longer available to Bangladeshis. The course fee for Bangladeshis or foreigners in the 28-day course is now USD 880 (during the epidemic, only air flights are allowed from Dhaka to Kolkata with the visa, which needs to count more dollars).

Meanwhile, due to the impact of COVID-19, all types of tourist visas have been stopped and training in India has become uncertain. In that case, HMI extends a helping hand again. HMI sent a visa invitation letter to the Indian High Commissioner mentioning the student’s name. After applying for a visa with that letter and all other necessary paperwork, only a special visa for training was issued.

Requirements for Single Entry special visa:

Letter of recommendation from the organization or club you are within Bangladesh
Visa Invitation Letter from Mountaineering Institute to Indian High Commissioner
Bank statement (minimum 1 lakh taka)
Copy of confirmed flight ticket (better yet)
Other papers for getting an Indian visa as per previous rules
- Copy of web file
- Passport copy
- Copy of National Identity Card,
- Copy of college or varsity ID card of the student
- Copy of utility bill
