Ahona, a 10-year young girl in the Himalayas!

Ahona Rida Zahra, a 10-year-young Bangladeshi girl has set a record of being the FIRST to trek to Annapurna Base Camp at 4130 meters in the Himalayas!

This year on the 30th of November a team of 10 members left Bangladesh to trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Except for the Trek Leader Mohiuddin Mahi, this was the first Himalayan trek for all the nine members of the group including 10 years young Ahona and her father. On the 5th day of their trekking in the Annapurna Region in Nepal, on 3rd November the team succeeded at 13,550 feet /4130 meters.

Ahona is a student at Sunshine Grammar School, Nasirabad, Chittagong. She has a passion for mountains and trekking from her father. Her parents discovered Ahona’s mindset and physical ability when she completed the obstacle courses and tree-top activity challenges at Base camp, Foys Lake, Chittagong. Then she showed her interest in basic training which was organized by Travelettes in collaboration with Rope4.

Her enthusiasm and determination were visible for mountain trekking, as a result, Rope4 Trainers encouraged her to trek to the Himalayas and also made her parents understand that Ahona would succeed! Her mental and physical strengths were proved during the trekking in Chandranath Hill as part of the preparation for Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. Her performance convinced her parents to allow her to trek to the Himalayas.

Ahona is compassionate about animals and wants to be a Veterinarian to treat street animals in the future. She continues to show her affection for animals during her trek in the Himalayas.

হিমালয়ের ১৩,৫৫০ ফুট / ৪১৩০ মিটার উচ্চতায় অবস্থিত অন্নপূর্ণা বেস ক্যাম্পে প্রথম ট্রেকিং করার রেকর্ড গড়লেন ১০ বছর বয়সী বাংলাদেশী মেয়ে অহনা রিদা জাহরা।

এ বছর ৩০ নভেম্বর ১০ সদস্যের একটি দল অন্নপূর্ণা বেস ক্যাম্পে যাওয়ার জন্য বাংলাদেশ ছেড়ে যায়। ট্রেক লিডার মহিউদ্দিন মাহি ব্যতীত, ১০ বছর বয়সী অহনা ও তার বাবা সহ গ্রুপের নয় জন সদস্যের জন্য এটিই ছিল প্রথম হিমালযয়ে ট্রেকিং অভিজ্ঞতা। নেপালের অন্নপূর্ণা অঞ্চলে তাদের ট্রেকিং এর ৫ম দিনে, নভেম্বর ৩ তারিখে দলটি ১৩,৫৫০ ফুট / ৪১৩০ মিটার উচ্চতার অন্নপূর্ণা বেস ক্যাম্পে সফভাবে পৌছে যায়।

অহনা চট্টগ্রামের নাসিরাবাদের সানশাইন গ্রামার স্কুলের ছাত্রী। তার বাবার কাছ থেকে পাহাড় এবং ট্রেকিং সম্পর্কে জানা। চট্টগ্রামের ফয়স লেকের বেস ক্যাম্পে অবস্টাক্যাল কোর্স এবং ট্রি-টপ অ্যাক্টিভিটি চ্যালেঞ্জ সম্পন্ন করার মাধ্যমে অহনার আগ্রহ এবং শারীরিক ক্ষমতা টার বাবা-মার সামনে আসে। তারপর অহনা, ভ্রমনকন্যা ও রোপফোর আয়োজিত একটি মৌলিক প্রশিক্ষণে আগ্রহের সাথে অংশগ্রহণ করে।

পর্বতারোহণের জন্য তার উৎসাহ এবং সংকল্প দৃশ্যমান ছিল, ফলস্বরূপ, রোপফোর এর প্রশিক্ষকরা তাকে হিমালয়ে ট্রেকিং করতে উত্সাহিত করে এবং তার বাবা-মাকেও বোঝাতে চেষ্টা করেন যে অহনা হিমালয়য়ে ট্র্যাকিং এ সফল হবে! অন্নপূর্ণা বেস ক্যাম্প ট্রেকিং-এর প্রস্তুতির অংশ হিসাবে চন্দ্রনাথ পাহাড়ে ট্রেকিং করার সময় তার মানসিক ও শারীরিক স্বক্ষমতা প্রমাণিত হয়েছিল যা তার বাবা-মাকে হিমালয়ে ট্রেকে পাঠানোর জন্য আশ্বস্ত করে।

ছোট্ট মেয়ে অহনা প্রাণীদের প্রতি অত্যান্ত সহানুভূতিশীল এবং ভবিষ্যতে রাস্তার প্রাণীদের চিকিত্সার জন্য প্রাণী চিকিৎসক হতে চায়। হিমালয়ে ভ্রমণের সময়ও অহনা প্রাণীদের প্রতি তার স্নেহ প্রদর্শন অব্যাহত রেখেছিল।

অন্নপূর্ণা বেস ক্যাম্প ট্রেকিং-এর জন্য অহনাকে প্রশিক্ষণ দিতে পেরে রোপফোর অনেক গর্বিত! এত ছোট বয়েসেই অহনাকে তার আগ্রহর পথে এগিয়ে যাবার সুযোগ করে দেবার জন্য তার বাবা-মা প্রশংসার দাবীদার!
